 I was rated for PTSD with major depressive disorder and anxiety at 50%. The C&P exam was a little odd as he stated he relied on your nexus and dbq heavily, so he skipped over much of the dbq and it only lasted about 30 minutes. However, his assessment was much less thorough than yours. 

​

I was also rated at 50% for obstructive sleep apnea secondary to PTSD. The C&P exam was a records review only with my medical records and your nexus letter the only evidence they examined.  The entire process took 23 days from start to rating and I’m certain the results would have been much different if it weren’t for your nexus/dbq documents.

​

My rating increased to 90% from 40% but most importantly, it assures that I continue to have access to mental health services for the rest of my life. Something I am currently taking advantage of and likely will for a long time to come.

Turns out, I was denied with your IMO in a supplemental claim with the rationale I was overweight at the time of my sleep study, which you explained away. I was then denied after an HLR with a duty to assist error that came back with studies about my jaw and nose line. Given that argument, as written in my claim letter, it states the Veteran IMO should have been weighted more and the Veteran IMO theories are more consistent with granting the Veteran Sleep Apnea secondary to PTSD.
