Our Process

Our process starts when you fill out our communication form explaining your claim and which services you might need from Dr. Miller's team. We will reach out to answer any questions you may have and determine whether our services and pricing are a good match for your personal needs. Once you decide to move forward, these are your next steps:

  1. Dr. Miller will send you a link to a HIPAA-secure folder for you to upload any records pertinent to your VA claim, an invoice for services, and a link to her booking calendar (if you need to schedule an exam/DBQ).

  2. We review your records and confirm that you have the documents needed for a nexus letter and/or exam with DBQ. You can review our services and prices here. Please keep in mind we cannot offer legal advice and can only tell you what services we can or cannot provide based on your records. If you need advice on what to claim or how to file a claim, we highly recommend contacting a veteran service officer who can help with any advice you may need regarding your claim. â€‹

  3. Services (nexus letters, TDIU letters) based on records reviews (no exam) can be expected within a maximum of two weeks from the time you submit payment. You can expect telehealth exams to be scheduled within 3-4 weeks based on Dr. Miller (or her team members') schedule, with the resulting documents to be provided within 2 weeks maximum after your exam. If you need your documents sooner, you can pay an extra fee for expedited service.

  4. If you need a telehealth exam, a link to a secure video conferencing software (Zoom) will be provided to conduct your exam. Dr. Miller will conduct the exam which usually takes one hour or less, depending on the complexity of your case. You can expect to discuss general details about your life, well-being, and mental health treatment and functioning before, during, and after your time in the military. Dr. Miller will ask you a series of structured questions to make sure all of the information needed by the VA for your claim is covered during the exam, including the severity of your symptoms and how they affect your daily life.

    • Note regarding PTSD/trauma: If you have PTSD or traumatic experiences that are relevant to your mental health, Dr. Miller will take great care to find the details of your trauma history in your records as opposed to discussing them directly during your exam. We understand how difficult it can be to discuss these experiences and would never want to retraumatize you unnecessarily. If the details cannot be found in your record, you may also opt to submit a written statement to Dr. Miller rather than discussing them during your exam

  5. The completed support documents will be provided to you for review via secure folder. Please make sure to read them carefully and bring any concerns or corrections to our attention. Our goal is to provide detailed, accurate documents, so we are happy to make revisions if any information is incorrect.

  6. Once you approve your final documents, they are yours to keep and use for your disability claim process.

  7. Throughout the process you can expect prompt communication with an open line, with email as the best route for communication. You can always expect a response from us by the next business day if not sooner.
